Sunrisers Hyderabad is a franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad, Telangana, that plays in the Indian Premier League. The franchise is owned by Kalanithi Maran of Sun TV Network and was founded in 2012 after the Hyderabad based Deccan Chargers was terminated by the IPL.

The team made their first IPL appearance in 2013 where they reached the playoffs, and eventually finished in the fourth place. They won their first IPL title in 2016 by defeating The Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals.
Sunrisers replaced the Deccan Chargers in 2012 and made a debut in 2013. The franchise was taken over by Sun TV Network after the Deccan Chronicles went bankrupt.

The team jersey was unveiled on 8 March 2013. The logo was unveiled on 20 December 2012, along with the announcement that the team management would be led by Kris Srikkant, Tom Moody and VVS Laxman.
The team saw many ups and downs since its debut. The team was led by Kumar Sangakkara and Cameron White initially. Then they were captained by Shikhar Dhawan. From 2015-2017 David Warner wore the skipper’s cap and fortunes turned for them. They went on to win the IPL in 2016. But in 2018 David Warner stepped down from captaincy as BCCI announced that he won’t be allowed to play IPL following the Australian ball-tampering controversy. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was chosen to be the captain for the 2018 season. SRH finished as runner ups in the last season after losing the final to Chennai Super Kings.

Before the auction, SRH traded Shikhar Dhawan to Delhi Capitals in favor of Shahbaz Nadeem, Abhishek Sharma, and Vijay Shankar. SRH retained 17 players and released nine players. On auction day, SRH bought three new players; Johnny Bairstow, Martin Guptill, and Wriddhiman Saha, the latter was bought back in the auction after initially being released. David Warner will make a comeback to the tournament this season. SRH decided to stay with Kane Willamson as captain and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as vice-captain. Before the start of the season, Williamson was nursing an injury and Kumar led the team in the first game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Now speaking about the team, the sun rises in the east but whenever SRH plays they rise in every direction. This team is meticulous. They won half the battle on the auction table itself. They have a replacement for each player in their squad. Their strength lies in their bowling. They believe in the philosophy that batsmen win you matches but bowlers win you tournaments. They have stalwarts like Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Basil Thampi and Mohammed Nabi. And most importantly this is the only team since last 2-3 years which has defended a total of 140 runs successfully even on flat pitches.
There are no apparent weaknesses in the team but the only problem is their lower middle order.

The X-factor for the team this year is going to be none other than David Warner as he is making a come back. But another player to watch out for will be Vijay Shankar keeping the 2019 World Cup in mind.

They have a strong chance of winning this year as they have a very good core team. Their bench strength is magnificent and David Warner provides that extra boost to the team. The only team that can prove a threat to them is Chennai Super Kings as they lost all four matches last year against CSK. But still, it is likely that they will make their way to the Play-offs.
