If there’s one thing I love more than sleeping, it’s definitely eating.
This one word is enough to flip my sour mood to a beatific one in a minute.
In a city like Mumbai, there is various kind of foods to make your mouth water at a single glance. Hands down, they are the finest food items I have ever had. So, here are my top 5 favorite food items I’d recommend everyone to try!
1. Vada Pav
It’s a deep-fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav) sliced almost in half through the middle. You’ll probably see a lot of people munching on this snack every now and then. It’s one of the most famous dishes across Mumbai and a must try!
2. Chowpatty Chaat
Chaat is Mumbai’s most legendary street food. It has a mesmerizing combination of a sweet, spicy and sour taste. If you hit the city and don’t try Chaat, trust me you haven’t lived your life! No exaggerating here, I promise.
3. Usal Misal
Usal Misal is mostly eaten for breakfast or as a mid-day snack. It has a tantalizing taste and a good nutritional value The taste of Misal ranges from mild to extremely spicy. You have to try Misal with pav! It’s a great combo.
4. Juhu Pav Bhaji
Juhu is a serene beach and is known for its beauty. But there’s one more thing it’s even more popular for. It’s Pav Bhaji. The Bhaji is a thick vegetable curry served with Pav. If you hadn’t already guessed then let me tell you that Pav is a pretty popular item here and loved by almost everyone.
5. Kothimbir Vadi
Last but not least, Kothimbir Vadi is a delicious snack which is famous in the city that never sleeps. It has a crispy exterior and is totally soft on the inside. You can relate it to the character Hulk, but its size is very small. Kothimbir Vadi is particularly well known in South Mumbai where you can try different varieties of the same.
If you’re an epicure, these items are bound to leave their imprints in your mind for a long time. They might even generate your inner Joey Tribbiani, making you tell everyone ‘Joey (you) doesn’t share food!’
I would love to sign off with a pun but I donut understand food puns. (see what I did there?)
I hope you have an eggcellent day!
