K.J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce is one of the best and most acclaimed colleges in Mumbai. Located in Vidyavihar, Ghatkopar the college offers several academic courses in the field of arts and commerce with professional undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses.
The college was at its infancy during the early 1960s when it was founded but today it’s reached several milestones as it has been reaccredited and awarded grade ”A” by NAAC in September 2016.
The junior college is for two beautiful years. Its fee structure starts from 3k.
The degree college is for three years and it’s fee structure starts from 8k-24k.

Food is an essential part of one’s life. The college has a total of 5 canteens which has many varieties of Bombay delicacies.
Some of them include vada pav with chatni, cheese Frankies, noodle Frankies, pulav, manchurian, idli, dosa, fried rice, chole Puri, Maggi, various desserts, juices and cold drinks like orange juice, mango shake, chocolate shake, strawberry juice, pepsi, coca cola, sprite, etc. In addition to this, the college also provides a Maggie house where everyone can enjoy their favourite snack with some cold coffee with greenery surrounding them, making it a soothing and a must-have experience.
Somaiya College respects different cultures and therefore, it celebrates almost all the festivals like Holi, Diwali, Navratri, Eid, etc.
It also includes the celebration of various days like Traditional day, Rose day, Valentines Day, etc.
There are official farewell and freshers’ celebrations in order to bid adieu to older students and welcome fresh faces into the college.
Every college has its own festival. This college has MAKERMELA as its festival in which many celebrities have been invited like Anup Jalota, Prajakta Koli aka MOSTLYSANE, Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Sonam Wangchuk, Myshkin Ingawale, etc.
The college has its own and quite popular publication ‘Somaiya Voices’ where news and college updates are regularly printed which provides a better insight into the college and its various activities and events.
